Album Review: Amy Martin - Bones
“Amy Martin’s second solo album, Bones, exists at the intersection of indie-folk and alt-country, with songs full of Appalachian poetry and washed in southern gothic. Like its namesake, the album is intimate and exposed, but full of tenacity and tensile strength, communicated through a voice halfway between Brandi Carlile and Lucinda Williams, but with a warble of grace of its own, reaching heights only the bald eagle has seen. . . [her] earnest lyrics go toe to toe with anything Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clarke, or any of country’s contemporary poets has penned.”

ALBUM REVIEW: AMY MARTIN SHARES THE TRIALS AND TRIUMPHS OF ENDURING CHANGE WITH ‘TRAVELIN’ ON’
“Amy Martin’s Travelin’ On is about the joy and pain of moving on… from failed love, from illusions of home, from unfortunate pit-stops and joyous discoveries along the way. Even positive changes can be difficult experiences. Through these seven tracks she captures almost every little nuance of those situations and brings them to life. . .”

ALBUM REVIEW: Amy Martin - TRAVELIN’ ON
“Anyone paying cursory attention to the lyrics on American songwriter Amy Martin’s Travelin’ On is sure to twig that the self-described “queer Christian” country-folk performer, with the bluegrass background and badass voice, arrived at her POV distinctly. . . The set’s seven original songs gather thunder from Martin’s beforementioned voice; powerhouse may be a criminally overused word but it’s hard to think of one that fits better.”
